The oldest Georgian traditional method of preparing wine has no analogues in the world. Georgia is recognized worldwide as the birthplace of wine, which has a continuous tradition of making wine for 8000 years.

On March 30, 2012, the oldest Georgian traditional method of serving wine in the cellar was granted the category of intangible cultural heritage of national importance.
